Meet Carolyn and Alex – another wonderful couple whose love knows no boundaries.

Preparation of your own wedding is a huge endeavour but it’s a lot simpler when you know exactly what you want. And that was the case with Carolyn & Alex who from the very beginning knew that an elegant fusion of Western classic elements with traditional Chinese style is the way to go. As we love merging those elements in photography ourselves, it all simply had to work.

The first part of their Big Day took place in the beautiful Xujiahui cathedral, a fine example of Neo-Gothic architecture. The marriage ceremony was solemn and touching, not only to the couple, but also to their closest family and over 300 other guests who joined.

There is truly an abundance of choices when it comes to wedding venues in Shanghai but once you know the atmosphere you are after, everything is much simpler and falls into place. The couple decided to host their wedding in Waldorf Astoria Shanghai as its Neoclassical style reflected well the sophistication and heritage, values they care about.

Our newlyweds incorporated Chinese traditions and classic Western customs, all with style and elegance. They had traditionial Chinese tea ceremony, danced stunning waltz, and filled the room with joy and tears. And as if this was not enough, the wedding finished with an amazing after party at the Long Bar on the Bund.
